FAQ

How do I file a claim?

Begin by notifying Customer Care of the damages or missing items by e-mailing support@getbellhops.com. Soon after, you will receive a link to our Damage Claim form and have 5 business days from the date of your move to file your claim.

How do I find proof of weight for my damaged or missing items?

Please refer to this document that lists the average weights of household items. Weight information can also be found in the product information on most company websites.

For claims related to structural damage that occurred during your move, you are not required to submit weight information.

What if I have already notified Customer Care of my claim but am unable to fill out the claim form from my mobile device or computer?

Please contact quality@getbellhops.com and a member of our Claims team will reach out to you.

What if I am unable to file my claim within 5 business days of my move?

If you are unable to file your claim within 5 business days of your move date, please contact quality@getbellhops.com within the 5-business-day window. The Claims team will review the situation and get back to you within 1 to 2 business days.

How long will it take to process my claim?

It typically takes 1 to 2 business days to review and process a claim once the form has been received. Every situation is different, however, and some claims might take longer to resolve. The Claims team will remain in contact with customers throughout the process and work diligently to resolve your issue in a timely manner.

Please note that we cannot begin processing a claim until your balance with Bellhops has been paid. We will place a hold on your claim until the balance is paid, and then process the claim within 1 to 2 business days. Even if you have an outstanding balance with Bellhops, you are still required to submit your Claim form within 5 business days from the date of your move.

How are settlements determined?

Because the circumstances in which damages occur dictate how they should be handled, we review each claim to make sure it gets resolved in the fairest way possible.

If your property is damaged or lost by your bellhops during the move, we will assume liability of up to seventy (70) cents per pound, per item damaged, up to a maximum of $2,000 per move.

For example, if a 100-pound dresser, valued at $300, were damaged, Bellhops would be liable for no more than $70 (100 pounds multiplied by 70 cents).

Should your property get damaged during transportation, Bellhops will facilitate the claims-settlement process with the truck provider, which is independently insured for such situations.
