Moving to north Fulton County in Atlanta has been a very popular choice for generations. The Towns of Sandy Springs and Roswell lie at the top of the Perimeter (Interstate 285, a 60 mile long outer loop that encircles Atlanta) with the Georgia 400 corridor roughly approximating the eastern border while Marietta and Alpharetta form the western and northern border, respectively. Dozens of smaller communities lie in the Roswell and Sandy Springs area but the north Fulton County location is a prime one to move to in Atlanta. Fulton County is one of the five "traditional" counties that made up the greater metropolitan area for many years, although in the last two decades, the area has extended to all or part of nearly 18 counties. As a result of the development in the area over the last two decades, everything you could possibly need can be found in Sandy Springs and Roswell. Perimeter Mall and Northpoint are large centers in the area and nearly any retail establishment you could want is within a few minutes’ drive. Due to north Fulton’s proximity to the Buckhead and Midtown area, the myriad of boutiques that Buckhead is known for is less than a 30-minute drive.

Nightlife

Due to the rapid growth in the Sandy Springs and Roswell areas in the last two decades, it is home to not only a younger demographic, but also an impressive nightlife. There are plenty of national restaurant chains in the area but, of course, getting off the beaten path is a must for any local.

Since north Fulton County has been a bedroom community of Atlanta for many years, if you’re moving there with school-age children, you’ll find some great public schools. As with any public system, though, there can be some challenges at the local level, but a great public school education can still be had on the Northside.

When it comes to higher learning, Atlanta offers some of the best in the world, and Sandy Springs and Roswell, due to their location, give commuters easy access to the likes of Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Spelman, Perimeter College, and Emory University.
