Summerlin
Summerlin is a 22,500-acre, master-planned community that sits west of Downtown Las Vegas. It encompasses a few smaller communities, and its expansive area holds tons of parks, some of the best schools in the valley, and nine golf courses. Summerlin is most popular among higher-income families looking for an easy commute and quiet getaway.

Summerlin is bordered by the gorgeous Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The park offers over 30 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. And if somehow that doesn’t do it for you, Summerlin is home to dozens of parks and the 150-mile Summerlin Trail System.
Locals love to golf at Angel Park. And shopping is a popular daytime activity in Downtown Summerlin. This 1.6 million-square-foot center holds shops and restaurants and frequently hosts community events.

Green Valley locals are commonly spotted taking walks, jogging, or playing with the kids during all hours of the day.

With close proximity to all of Downtown’s offerings, Anthem residents don’t have a problem finding something fun to do on evenings and weekends. Locals also enjoy visiting the closeby Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. This vast space is home to an incredible array of ancient rock art panels created by native cultures.

The neighborhood is picturesque and peaceful, and definitely has a touch of luxury to it.

Many of The Lakes amenities feature their beautiful, natural surroundings. The Canyon Gate Country Club is close by and has over 160-acres of green space. 15 miles of bicycle paths circle the beautiful Lake Sahara. And many locals enjoy boating or bass-fishing on the weekends. Stop by the Lakes Town Center Plaza for some great eateries like Those Guys Pies and The Lakes Lounge. This space is also home to a grocery store, salons, and fitness centers.

The Arts District
As the name hints, the Arts District is made up of the local art community in Las Vegas. It’s close to Downtown and is bursting with new businesses, galleries, studios, and residents. The Arts District is bright and blingy with color and expression, and full walls of painted murals blanket vacant buildings.
Despite all its growth, the Arts District still hasn’t reached its full height. The streets already offer a mix of coffee shops, vintage boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, museums, and galleries. But more and more keep coming to the area. With residential areas blending into this cultural hub, the Arts District has become the happy home to many little millennials and young professionals.
What’s Happening in the Arts District
Las Vegas’ growing art scene is certainly anchored by The Arts District and its plethora of cultural and creative events, galleries, unique bars, and local eats. The First Friday Art Walk started over a decade ago, with small groups of artists and local residents. Today, this event has spread throughout Downtown and hosts over 100 artists, live bands, food venues, and performing artists. The event draws about 30,000 people, and the neighborhood has started hosting “Preview Thursday” to manage the crowds.
As mentioned, this area is brimming with art galleries and studios. Check out the Art Square, home to a dozen artists and their work as well as a few theaters. For the area’s best watering holes, check out Velveteen Rabbit and ReBar. And for great local eats, pop over to Mingo Kitchen and Lounge, Lola’s Louisiana Kitchen, and Tacos Huevos.
